new bike, new trails, great trip
Submitted by redstone underground
I got a large Tomac Snyper put together late last week - just in time for a trip to Crested Butte. The plan was to meet up with some other folks from the front range and get in a few solid rides. Mission accomplished.
The bike, a 5.5″ travel 2009 Tomac Snyper 140:

Fall Races? Where to Winter?
Submitted by KRISTA PARK
Next week I’ll do a review on my new S-Works cranks. Right now I am trying to figure out where to go next.
Last weekend was as far as my 2009 plans went. It’s now time to figure out the rest of the year.
So far looks like CO, CA, NV then NM. Todd [...]
Windham NY: XC Flat! (15th). 10th in Short Track.
Submitted by KRISTA PARK
Wednesday: loooong travel day. I left Vallecito Lake at 6:00am, drove to Albuquerque, flew to Las Vegas (kinda the wrong direction), lost $40 trying to get rich at the slots, flew to Albany, drove a rental to Windham, got into my horrible room at 2:00 am.
Thursday: Tried to find another hotel, ended [...]

Colorado Trail Race 2009
Submitted by Diary of Scott Morris
Seven sunrises on the bike. The first was on pavement, pedaling a prologue to meet some forty fellow bikepackers at the eastern terminus of the Colorado Trail. A singular goal was on everyone’s mind: ride self supported to Durango, over 470 miles away.
I’ve never seen so many bikepackers. Pretty damn [...]
Lyons to Winter Park or Bust
Submitted by redstone underground
We’ve been talking about this – the recent fervor from the Colorado Trail Race calls out to go big.
We debated the starting point- should we attempt to ride all dirt from Lyons, should we take Hwy 7 up to Peaceful Valley or Bunce School Rd?
Man’s got to know his limitations..so in the [...]
Ain’t Life Grand?
Submitted by redstone underground
I was able to skip out of reality for a bit and escape to Grand County. You know Grand County, home of Winter Park, Sol Vista, and the Fraser Valley? My goal was to ride some of Grand County’s lesser known gems. Had a couple of epics planned.
The first was in the [...]

Colorado is a nice place to visit, but a better place to rob…
Submitted by Harvest The Ride
…by next week, I’ll be getting bermed turns for free (gondala rides instead of pedaling to the top.)
I’m gonna send it at Keystone.
It’s too hot to ride in these parts. Summer peaked this weekend, and the air will take your breath away. I’m looking forward to some good ol’ Rocky Mountain [...]
Great Ride last Tuesday!
Submitted by redstone underground
Had a few fine folks and went on a bike ride last Tues. There were parts where the trail was more grown over than I’ve ever seen.
Sunset was good. Good thing we brought lights.
Mountain meadows in the dark are okay with me.
Beers at Oskar’s were excellent as always.
Thanks for coming out!
Next Tues [...]
daddy Time Trial Series
Submitted by redstone underground
Check out the Daddy Time Trial Series site. 5 new posts and a new course. I eliminated the Rabbit Mountain loop due to the fact that it sucks and nobody should have to ride it. I have come up with a ending date of Oct.15th. This will allow the weather to cool [...]

Durango July 2009
Submitted by KRISTA PARK
Lots going on in Durango this last week.
Sunday 7/26 Durango Century It was a tour “not a race” and I did not race. I did work in the lead paceline a bit, I chased a guy or two even though they were not going anywhere, basically I just had fun. In order [...]
Full Circle
Submitted by Harvest The Ride
Car shopping can be both fun and frustrating. I looked at everything from a truck to a Subaru wagon. In the end I ended up back where I started, and I bought a used Element off www.craigslist.com. We drove down to Chattanooga Friday night to get it, and stayed for dinner [...]
Colorado Trail Race
Submitted by Diary of Scott Morris
Tomorrow (Sunday) I’m off to ride in the Colorado Trail Race. It’s been a semi-crazy week of moving back to Tucson, trying to find all my gear and setting up the SPOT tracker to be bombproof (hopefully!). We have a new site, trackleaders.com, for all this SPOT tracking fun. The [...]
