We are back in Tucson, AZ! It has been two years and it is everything I remember. We are staying near Catalina Hwy, the road that goes up Mt Lemmon. You can ride all the way around Tucson from here, it is a perfect location.
Saturday 10/24: On the way from Santa Fe [...]

Lion Gulch on a dark snowy night.

We’ve had a lot of good Tuesday Niters this year and it’s sad to see the prime riding season drawing to a close. Clinging to the thought that it’s not near over yet, our crew hit South St Vrain last week. We left the shop with no precip, but by the time [...]

beautiful day for a bike ride
Submitted by redstone underground
Today’s ride was fantastic. Conditions were a little greasy here and there going up Antelope but the views were outta sight.
Up top, between the rock garden and Antelope, things were a little too muddy(I walked) but going down the rock garden was fantastic as always. I got a bit sloppy from the [...]

Roskruge
Submitted by Diary of Scott Morris
I’m dreaming of a new bikepacking loop. A low bikepacking loop. A warm loop. One that could be raced, stage style, in the middle of winter, when the bikepacking calendar is empty and the days are short.
I came up with a rough idea, but it held many unknowns, traversing a [...]

Tuesday Ride 10/20
Submitted by redstone underground
Hopefully the weather will not be too wet Bike shop at 5:30. Bring your best lights with full charge. If the weather gods don’t frown too much, we’ll tackle SSV for one last time this year. We’ll come up with a plan B in the meantime otherwise.

bikes update
Submitted by redstone underground
Originally, the Intense Tracer VP was released with just 4 colors: raw/works, white, red, and stealth black. Intense produced a couple of super sweet limited edition colors for complete bikes -crc blue and black chrome. Due to popular demand, both of those colors are now legit color options!
In Transition news, Bottle Rockets [...]
Help!
Submitted by redstone underground
Saw this on our night ride at Left Hand OHV on Tuesday. I was witness to the carnage 1 week ago Monday. New truck, gotta go off roading, right? The guy swung way wide right to make a tigh left hander and started sliding downhill in the soft sandy soil. Good thing [...]
One week left in Santa Fe
Submitted by KRISTA PARK
We have five days left in Santa Fe, NM before heading to Tucson, AZ for the winter. This last week has been great for riding with temps in the low 70s. The best part of riding in Santa Fe is almost every ride leaves from “home”, although we did drive to Taos [...]
trail work
Submitted by Harvest The Ride
I got a late start leaving for the woods on Sunday morning, and missed the group heading to Raccoon Mountain. I therefore headed to Windrock with some trail building tools and my Kona Dawg. I knew a few guys were scattered across the mountain, getting some trail work done before the [...]

Coconino Stage Race [part two]
Submitted by Diary of Scott Morris
Day 3 on the Coconino Loop dawned cold. There were five of us left, plus David Jones out ahead in thru-rider mode. Tim was off at first light, with the rest of us following at irregular intervals.
I left last, just like stages 1 and 2. This time it wasn’t so [...]
Rock y Road
Submitted by Diary of Scott Morris
Today was another fine event in the Arizona Endurance Series, the Rock y Road 50/50. I was too much of a coward to line up for the full meal deal, knowing my fried state, post Coconino, and also knowing the projected high temperature — record temps of nearly 100 degrees!
But [...]
Coconino Stage Race [part one]
Submitted by Diary of Scott Morris
The time finally came to race the Coconino Loop, first explored by Chad, Lee and I, last June. There was some work to insure everything went smoothly, including a last minute rescinding of a fire re-route, and of course the usual SPOT/tracker setup.
But for the first time this year, I [...]
Desert Dessert, Day 2
Submitted by redstone underground
Day 2 in the desert came with little fanfare. Must have been due to my aching body, my aching head, or… Well, I should’ve taken pics of all the beer cans scattered around the campground but I wasn’t moving quickly enough to snap a photo. You get the idea. Bagel egg sammiches, [...]
day one in the desert
Submitted by redstone underground
We originally had the crew rallied to head out to the Big Wheeled Ballyhoo about 4 hours east into Nebraska but we didn’t quite make it. As the date approached, the forecast got worse. We decided to play it by ear. If the forecast was tolerable, we’d head east. If the Ballyhoo [...]

Bob and Ilan stopped in on Tuesday. Just a couple guys out on a bike ride. A rather long bike ride, though. They left from New York a bit ago and are on their way to LA. They stopped byt the shop on Tues on their way up to Estes. So far, [...]
